Cupping the latest roast of the 2013 harvest. Apricot/blackberry, a bit anise, some rose. Maybe some almond. Another good batch I think. Packaged up pound bags to bring to HL7. If my friends/followers are at the Cambridge conference, I’ll be bringing some - $12/pound - limited supplies! @Apelon - You’ll have your delivery!

Shots of the Catuai section now planted. Last shot is of the steep(!) hillside where I’m glad others will be harvesting 😉

(Almost) Done planting! Turns out we have more plants then space in the originally planned locations. So Nibardo and kid are clearing over to “the triangle” to add more Catuai there.

We have EM (effective microbes) and organic anti-fungals ready to polish things up when everything is planted. Happy plants and farmers!

We’ve got about 1/3 of the land planted now. Hopefully rain and some organic magic will result in a field of small trees by the beginning of the year.

Finally got to swim in the wonderful Seminario pool just south of the San Francisco turn. A bit frío but perfect for a long swim. Only $1.50 for some good strokes…

Short video tour up along the quebrada which is beautifully cleared now with coffee trees all through the slopes. Farm is looking like we care now ;-)

Two more shots of the spot we’ll but a guest casita in. Using this to provide our terra-negra while we create the space. Big overhangs and eco-space. We’ll start with just a poured floor and a roof and use this for the farm while we work though the specifics.

Started the planting process with our Geisha plants along the drive. We’ll fill half the front area with the famous Geisha that we’ve purchased from Plinio Ruiz, and the other half with Catuai. After few hours of planting on our own, we’ll be using more help to make this much faster next week. Plan to plant close to 1000 new plants this week..
